If you are looking for a new or a first BCD then you want one with good reviews and the Cressi AquaPro 5 Buoyancy control device undeniably has those. Have a look to see what this impressive BCD has on offer for the modern diver.

The Cressi AquaPro 5 comes from the stable of Cressi, who provide a wide range of diving equipment, not only BCDs. Their equipment is used and trusted by plenty of diving centres across the world, which should give an indication of the value for money as well the trusted longevity of the gear and ease of maintenance.

In fact, the reason that a lot of divers end up using Cressi equipment is because during their training or during holiday diving trips they have used the exact same model from the diving centre, appreciated how good the equipment is and then got home and bought the same so that they can dive with it again in the future.

The Buoyancy control device is available in a variety of sizes, from XX-Small to X-Large. In black, of course, with the usual dumps and attachments. It is an update of the highly popular original Cressi BCD with new add ons. These addons make the Buoyancy control device even better value for cash than the original was and well worth looking at.

The new version of the BCD features an amended shape. This change to the shape allows a greater freedom of movement to the diver whilst the pockets are now quite large, benefit from a zip to keep them closed and are gusseted.

The BCD also has weight pockets on the out side that can hold up to 3kg of lead between them. Carrying part of the weight load like this might help with the balance of the BCD whilst also meaning that you do not have to carry so much round your waist whilst in the water, but do remember that you must be familiar with your equipment and able to drop enough weight to make you positively buoyancy in an emergency.

The backpack of the BCD is a new design, being both light and strong simultaneously, also having a comfortable carry handle for moving the Buoyancy control device easily with the tank attached. The jacket is as a rule recommended for those divers that do not need to integrate much weight (6kg max) or those that are happy to mix and match integral weighting with a basic weight belt.

In summary, the Cressi AquaPro 5 now offers:

* new shoulder straps to provide additional comfort on the neckpiece area
* increased size accessory pockets, with zips to keep them closed and the contents in place
* larger integrated weight release pockets with 40mm buckles, each side capable of carrying 3kg
* wide cummerbund for securing in place
* a lightweight jacket for packing into a suitcase for travelling or use by children and those not able to carry much weight.
