Magnetic Sponsoring is a book written by a famous network marketing success named Mike Dillard. In various recordings Mike Dillard explains that he initially wrote Magnetic Sponsoring with the intention of providing some solutions to some of the problems the other MLMers on his team were facing.. Since the text was producing results in his own teams it then began to circulate around, and eventually to be sold by Dillard as an income product. I have no plan to go over all the concepts in Magnetic Sponsoring her in this article. You can get the book and do that yourself if you are so inclined. But I did want to bring up a few observations I have about this and how it applies to certain situations in the current MLM market.. The foundation of Magnetic Sponsoring is the concept that one can, by behaving in a certain way, attract or draw prospects to oneself rather than constantly chasing them with not resuls.. In Magnetic Sponsoring Mike Dillard talks about 2 main types of personalities- the Beta and the Alpha. The Alpha being a more dominant and strong type of personality, and the Beta being more of a follower, or weak type of personality. Dillard explains that in order to be more Magnetic one must be, or become more Alpha. This could be taken as a sort of reverse psychology if you will. They will want to join you because they perceive that you couldn't care less whether they do or not. On the flip-side, the more you chase and show anxiousness and need about their joining your group, the less they will be likely to join. This Magnetic Sponsoring concept has soaked it's way into various systems sometimes being the basis for the entire lead generation and funnel system. A good example would be MLM Lead System Pro.. The entire system is designed to brand you as a leader and thus create an Attractive character and make you “magnetic”. One of the most important points of Magnetic Sponsoring is the idea that pitching your primary MLM opportunity to a new prospect at the onset is a big “no-no” as this is a turn-off for people because in essence they are not interested in your opportunity. The Magnetic Sponsoring philosophy hold that the market for network marketers is in fact other network marketers or those who are looking to get into network marketing. This takes a lot of work out of the mix as you then are not in a position of trying to combat a prospects mental condition to pull them from a JOB mentality over into an entrepreneurial mentality. This means that almost everyone you are prospecting is already in their own MLM opportunity.. They are interested in building their business, not in hearing about how great your primary MLM opportunity is. This allows one to provide “help” in the form of instruction in marketing as an opportunity to build value in oneself so as to position oneself as a place to go for help, and as a leader. This positions you so that they may be more likely to join you at a later time because they can now perceive you as a leader. So you can provide this help in the form of just teaching them something or referring them to someone who is an expert, or sending them to a book, etc. And you can profit whether any of them join your primary MLM business or not because you receive affiliate commission on the products they buy. And now there are so many people, especially those who have connected up with MLM lead generation systems like MLM Lead System Pro, and who have no real accomplishment of their own in this industry, but they've been listening to the trainings and reading the Magnetic Sponsoring book and such, and are now pretending to be a leader and offering help to others who need it. I find this so interesting because the social media sites have been flooded with "guru's offering help, most of whom have never recruited anyone at all There are videos all over YouTube with these people telling you to not "follow you MLM Leader", but that you should be branding yourself, etc.. This can be confusing for a newer marketer looking for help as he now has to sort out what is the truth of who is real. And many times there are so many more people presenting themselves in this Attraction Marketing type style than there are people presenting their primary opportunity, that the one pitching their primary becomes the stand-out.. Any MLM-related group in Facebook these days is going to have a wall which is just drenched in Attraction Marketing Spam. I don't this this was Dillard's intention. “Get 20 Leads Per Day Using Facebook”, is one that you will see over and over again. Usually, the person posting this stuff isn't generating 20 leads per day on Facebook, and is just new to the concepts in Magnetic Sponsoring. And now we are being subjected to hundereds of "How To Get 100 Leads Per Day" ads, instead of just, "This Is The Greatest MLM Comp Plan Ever!" ads. I'm not convinced one is better than the other. I have a theory that the reason Magnetic Sponsoring works is due to the fact that it is different from the majority of what is being done. In other words, when you are being bombarded all day long by people pitching their primary MLM business and shouting at you about how fantastic their comp plan is, and one day a guy comes along through all that noise and all he does is askes you if you need any help in your business, and you perceive that that guy is legitimately skilled to offer that help, well, this becomes very attractive. Thus the term “Attraction Marketing”. But really, if you are just getting bombarded 500 times per day with offers for help from so many different people, offers like, “How To Get 20 Leads Per Day On Facebook For Free!”, then this offer of help then becomes the noise -the spam-- and the one guy who is left pitching his primary opportunity then becomes the refreshing and different approach. Some of this has to do with the fact that the FREE social sites, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and the like, are inundated with new network marketers who are broke and are trying to milk all the leads they can from the free advertising media. . It is strange because after a group like MLM Lead System Pro puts on a webinar on a particular topic, the next day you are going to get at least 8 or 9 emails from different people all saying nearly the same thing, all making the same offer because they all just listened to the same webinar the night before. In conclusion, I think the Magnetic Sponsoring approach is most effective in a situation where it is not the method being used by 99% of the people active in that media, but is effective when the approach is in the extreme minority. In those areas where you have 1000 people making essentially the same offer offering to show you how to get 100 free leads per day, or whatever the going pitch is, the winner will be the guy doing something different, .
